FACILITATION
The job of the facilitator is to make the process happen more smoothly and
effectively. While the
facilitator’s role is neutral and objective in terms of the issues, resources
and outcome, it needs to be firm and clear in terms of the negotiated process
that is being used. Facilitators
help structure, guide and maintain an effective democratic process in
discussions, brainstorming and problem solving. Facilitators may work with two or more parties in conflict through
negotiation or conflict resolution. They
often work with groups to help keep the process moving forward in an effective
step by step manner and focused on the task at hand. These groups include boards
of directors, work teams, interdepartmental teams and outcome focused groups.
One valuable role of facilitators is to work with groups to develop the
criteria and processes they will use in future meetings.
Once a structure is developed and the team members are familiar with the
process, the facilitator is no longer needed. The staff of HSC, with their experience and background in business,
psychology, education, law and communication
is uniquely qualified to help make these processes happen more smoothly
and effectively. For inquiries about our facilitation services, please contact us at office@humansystemsconsultants.com. |
